Duty-Free Allowance in the Philippines


Bringing in and out of currency

An arriving or departing passenger, regardless of nationality, is only allowed to bring in or out a maximum of:

  1. PHP 50,000, and
  2. foreign currency equivalent to up to US$ 10,000.

If you are bringing cash exceeding the allowable amount, please fill in the Customs Declaration Form and approach the Bureau of Customs counter after the baggage reclaim area.

Duty-free Import Allowance

All passengers 18 years of age and above are entitled to the following duty-free allowance. These benefits are cumulative within one (1) year.

Type of Article Duty-free Allowance
Cigarettes or tobacco 400 pieces of cigarettes or two (2) reams OR
50 cigars OR 250 grams of pipe tobacco OR 2 tins of tobacco
Alcoholic beverages 2 bottles, not exceeding of 1 liter each
Non-consumable item One of each kind valued at less than US$ 200

Prohibited Items

Import of the following items in the Philippines are not allowed under Philippine law:

  • Marijuana, opium, poppies, coca leaves, heroin or any other narcotics or synthetic drugs
  • Drug paraphernalia such as pipes
  • Any medicine banned or considered as dangerous drug in the Philippines, regardless of presence of prescription
  • Pornographic materials
  • Guns and other ammunitions and firearms, weapons of war, and any replica or parts of which
  • Any casino or gambling paraphernalia such as roulette wheels, marked cards, pinball machines, among others
