Your ultimate guide to surviving Manila's airport.
To be fair, Manila airport isn’t that bad. Whether you’re flying from or arriving in Manila, or simply dropping off or picking someone up, we got you covered.
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA)
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is the primary gateway to the Philippines, serving the Greater Metro Manila area. As the busiest airport in the country, NAIA is a vital hub for both domestic and international travel. The airport is named in honor of former Senator Ninoy Aquino, who was assassinated at the airport in 1983.
NAIA has four terminals, aptly named Terminals 1 through 4. These terminals are collectively designed to handle 35 million passengers annually. However, it has long surpassed its designed capacity. In 2023, the airport saw a record 45.3 million passengers - or around 30% more than its intended capacity.
Due to the high volume of traffic, passengers may experience frequent delays. There are ongoing efforts to manage and improve airport operations aimed to enhance the travel experience for passengers and those picking up their loved ones.
